Curious how AI talks about your brand?Run a free visibility check

You have measured your visibility, seen who is taking your place and which sources shape the answers. Now comes what actually moves the numbers: the actions. Manager turns the findings into concrete recommendations, and the recommendations into tasks you can follow up and measure the impact of.

The short version: Go to Recommendations, accept the three recommendations that give the most impact for the least effort, and convert them into actions. Link each action to the page it concerns, so Manager can measure before and after.

The recommendations

Under Growth and Recommendations, Manager gathers recommendations from all the modules into one prioritized list: AI visibility, SEO, content, competitors, tracking and ads. The list is sorted by expected impact divided by effort, and weighted against the goals you have set for the project.

For each recommendation you can:

  • Accept: you agree and want to do something about it.
  • Convert to action: turn it into a task right away.
  • Snooze: put it off until later.
  • Dismiss: reject it, with a short reason.

Recommendations close automatically when the problem they concern is solved.

Actions

Under Growth and Actions you find the tasks. Each action gets a key, for example ABCD-12, so it is easy to refer to. An action can be a large initiative with subtasks, or a simple task.

The statuses are Not started, In progress, Waiting, Deferred, Done and Cancelled. You can also prioritize with RICE, where you estimate reach, impact, confidence and effort, and link actions to goals and KPIs.

Measure the impact before and after

The most important field on an action is the link to the page it concerns (Linked URL). When you mark an action with a linked page as done, Manager automatically measures the trend before and after the change. You then see which actions work, and can do more of them.

Start small

The free trial is short. Use it to get one result you can show, rather than starting ten things:

  • Choose one page that should be visible in AI answers but is not.
  • Carry out one action from the recommendations, with the page linked to the action.
  • Follow the next measurements.

Actions that often have an effect

  • Clear answers early on the page. Answer the customer's question in the first paragraphs, with concrete facts.
  • Structured data. Mark up your business, services, products and questions and answers, so the models understand the content.
  • Present in the sources that get cited. Make sure you are listed and correctly described in the comparison services and directories the AI models use.
  • Access for AI bots. Check that the bots can read your most important pages without errors.

Get help from Cita

Cita is our in-house AI agent in Manager. It has an overview of the project's strategic profile, data, analyses and actions, and coordinates the work across the modules. You can delegate an action to Cita by choosing Delegate to Cita when you assign it.

Tips

  • Prioritize actions on pages that already have traffic or sell. That is where you get a result fastest.
  • Use the Chrome extension to add actions while you are looking at the page. See The CitationLab Chrome Extension.
  • Write down what you expect to happen when you create an action. That makes it easier to judge whether it worked.

Frequently asked questions

How often do new recommendations come in?

Recommendations update continuously when the modules find something new, and all together in the weekly analysis.

How long does it take before an action has an effect in AI search?

It varies. Some changes show up in the next measurement, others take weeks, depending on how often the models fetch the content again. Follow the trend over several measurements.

Can I invite colleagues to work on actions?

Yes. Invite them to the project and assign actions to the right person.
