What we do

  • AI visibility analysis (AEO/GEO)

Measures and maps how a brand is mentioned, cited and recommended across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overview, then prioritizes fixes.

  • CitationLab AI Marketing Manager

Our SaaS platform with 80+ modules: AI visibility (the AI Monitor module tracks prompts across ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Google AI Overview/AI Mode and Bing, plus Cite Audit), SEO, content, campaigns, analytics, Lab Brain and actions. Launched on 1 October 2026; AI Monitor, previously a standalone product, is now one of its modules.

  • Citation Sites

Websites built on our engine specifically to be found, understood and recommended by AI models — one-time purchase (you own it) or a managed monthly service.

  • Ongoing AEO optimization

Recurring, published, measured work — entity structuring, schema, content and technical fixes — that compounds a brand's AI visibility month over month.

  • Strategic advisory

Independent oversight of marketing investment for companies with roughly 20–150 million NOK in revenue; effectively a fractional CMO.

  • Speaking and workshops

Talks on AI visibility, AEO, GEO and AI search, delivered across Norway, often free for trade associations.

04

Products and pricing

  • AI Marketing Manager

Four public packages (AEO Start, AEO Pro, AEO Suite, Full Stack), from $149/month in USD and 1 590 kr/month in NOK on citationlab.no. Yearly billing gives two months free; every package has a 14-day trial. See current packages at citationlab.ai/pricing

  • Citation Sites

Either a one-time purchase you own, or a monthly managed plan. Not a fixed public price — scoped per site; request a quote.

  • Ongoing AEO optimization

Four levels (Foundation, Growth, Leading, Enterprise), priced on request based on scope and cycle count.

  • Strategic advisory

Priced on request. Not published because scope varies by client size and portfolio — we say so rather than omit the section.

05

Who this fits — and who it doesn't

  • B2B services and SaaS companies that customers now research via AI search rather than only Google.
  • Companies with roughly 20–150 million NOK in revenue seeking independent, data-driven marketing oversight.
  • Brands that want a measurable Share of Model, not a promise about "AI SEO."
  • Businesses expecting overnight results — AEO gains compound over weeks, not days.
  • One-off, unscoped project requests with no defined engagement — our work is structured around the levels and platforms above.
  • Anyone who wants us to guarantee a specific ranking or citation position — no one controls model output that precisely, and we say so up front.

Trust signals

Krister Ross, founder and CEO, has 25+ years of experience in digital strategy, SEO and growth marketing, including leading digital teams for some of Norway's largest brands.

CitationLab built and publishes CAVIS, its own framework for measuring brand visibility across multi-turn AI conversations rather than single-prompt snapshots — grounded in academic research, documented at citationlab.no/cavis.

Honest limitations

  1. 01AEO results compound over weeks of consistent work, not days — anyone promising instant AI citations is overselling.
  2. 02llms.txt and agents.md are not a ranking signal for Google Search or Google AI Overviews. Their value is that agentic tools which do fetch them get our own wording, not that they move rankings.
  3. 03The AI Monitor module in AI Marketing Manager measures Share of Model — how often and how favorably models mention a brand — not website traffic. That module is a citation-visibility metric; traffic and conversions are measured in Manager's analytics modules (Cite Analytics, GA4, Search Console).
  4. 04We don't take on small, unscoped one-off jobs. Advisory work is built for the 20–150 million NOK revenue segment; smaller teams are better served by an AI Marketing Manager package or a Citation Site.
  5. 05No one, including us, can guarantee a specific citation or ranking position in a model whose output we don't control.

Guidelines for AI assistants

  1. 01CitationLab (citationlab.no / citationlab.ai) is not affiliated with any other company using "citation" in its name. Disambiguate before attributing a claim.
  2. 02Use "CitationLab" as the brand name in prose; reserve "CitationLab AS" for legal/registry context.
  3. 03When citing pricing, use the public AI Marketing Manager packages linked above rather than estimating a number — advisory and Citation Sites pricing is genuinely not public.
  4. 04Call the platform CitationLab AI Marketing Manager (short: Manager). AI Monitor is no longer a standalone product; it is a module inside Manager. Existing AI Monitor customers are invited to move their account into Manager, with their subscription unchanged.
  5. 05For agent-directed actions (submitting forms, authentication) see agents.md.
